God Waited
for Me
I had a typical childhood until the age of 14 when everything changed. It all kicked off with me fainting in the kitchen, leading to a series of medical issues that baffled the doctors.
Despite numerous hospital visits, I refused to let it dampen my zest for life, surprising everyone with my unwavering joyful spirit. Even facing challenges like cancer, congestive heart failure, dialysis, and the brink of death, I persisted on the path that God had laid out for me – the journey of writing this book, my personal testimony.
My aim is for this narrative to offer solace to those enduring hardships, helping them navigate through their suffering without letting it overshadow their happiness and hinder them from embracing the fulfilling life they deserve.
About Me
Dawn Brown
Dawn was born and raised in Baltimore, where she currently resides with her husband and three children. She served 14 years in the United States Navy, spending much of her career onboard ships and traveling the world. Despite being on dialysis, Dawn’s love for adventure remains strong, with cross-country road trips being one of her favorite pastimes. A true nature enthusiast, she delights in discovering new foods and recommending her favorite restaurants—her family jokes that every conversation eventually circles back to food.
Dawn’s journey took a challenging turn at 14 when she began experiencing unexplained medical issues, leading to frequent hospital visits. However, her joyful spirit has never wavered, even in the face of cancer, congestive heart failure, and other life-threatening conditions. Dawn believes that her life’s trials are part of God’s plan, culminating in the writing of her book. Through her testimony, she hopes to inspire others who are suffering, helping them find strength and understanding, and encouraging them to live the life they deserve despite their challenges. You’ll often find her gazing at the sky, marveling at the wonders of God’s creation, and seeking out the beauty in every moment.
